Here is an introduction to R & K Robinson from the founding partner Richard Robinson:

“Like all industries, the printing trade has seen many changes over the years.  When I joined my first company, The Formprint Group, in 1978 most orders in the print trade were produced in house by the printer and very little work was outsourced.  Formprint were a manufacturing company based in Halesowen in the West Midlands.  Their strengths were in short run print where they offered extremely competitive prices and quick turnarounds”.

“Shortly after joining, it became obvious that the company struggled to compete on larger print runs.  I approached my boss and suggested that we try and outsource work as well as produce in our own factory in order to become more competitive and service more customers.  He agreed and a new company, Formfactor, was set up in 1982 to invoice Formprint customers for jobs produced outside of Formprint by a trade house”.

“Formfactor was a great success and quickly established a £4 million annual turnover.  Over the years there has been a considerable increase in printing companies following this approach to outsourcing print orders.  I held the role of Managing Director at Formprint for several years and I was responsible for accounts with blue chip companies such as Lucas Aftermarket”.

“In 1995, with the valuable experience gained in the printing industry at Formprint, I decided to set up my own print broker business.  R & K Robinson was formed and we were initially based in Birmingham.  We offer a full print and design service with a personal and friendly approach to your printed stationery requirements”.

“We relocated our office to Stourport on Severn in Worcestershire in 2006 and now have in house graphic facilities for handling supplied artwork files as well as proofing jobs.  Our website was first launched in 2007 and has recently undergone a major upgrade with a new look and additional pages to better reflect the products and services that we can offer our customers”.
